I recently discovered the website Lookbook.nu and instantly got hooked. It is a place where people post what they are wearing and I spent about 20 minutes flicking through all the fashionable photos. Then I logged in and decided I wanted to be a part of this because I do put a lot of effort into my outfits everyday. And selfishly I want to keep a log of what I put together because I am constantly wasting time looking for an outfit I feel good in when I have somewhere important to go, but of course get a mental block and can't remember anything that looks good together. I have a terrible memory so usually I rock an outfit and then forget all about it. I have lofty ideas of opening my closet door and having photos of all my outfits ideas to choose from. They do have rules on this website. You have to provide good photos and have at least one of them show a full body shot. And I thought you could post photos of your fabulous friends but the rule is the photos have to be of yourself. My obstacles with this are: a.) getting a photo of myself isn't that easy, even with a timer on my cell phone camera and b.) I don't have the time or the effort to shoot a self portrait every day, edit it so it looks good enough for the website, and then spend all the time "hyping" it up on there. Just like with any social networking site you have to try to get followers and promote your look by getting "hype." I did add a couple of
shots I took last year that are head to toe but sort of lost interest after that. Perhaps I will post a good outfit or two in the future but for now I'm going to get inspired by all the other fashionistas who post on there. They can have my "hype" and I'll take inspiration. Overall it is a really fun site to look at and a great concept. And if you have the time and effort to post your looks on there than please do because I would love to see them and I promise to give you my "
hype!"
Here are some of the recent finds on there:
FYI- these are the shoes I have been searching for.
This guy posts really great looks.
Red hair, the camera, the fashion mags--yup.
So adorable and retro!
Mostly I just love a girl who can rock purple hair.
I am thinking about trying out a similar look today with a little dress and my combat boots.
This is my favorite fashionista on here. She plays around with all kinds of different looks and looks amazing in every single one too.
Could this be any more adorable?
Love love love these photos!
